| Ewww WoW sucks. I played it for a week and by the end of that week i came to the following conclusion :
WoW is 'just another MMO', it has great support and solid servers true (thats what you pay for after all). But regarding gameplay and classses etc - theres nothing really new/exciting or that cant be found in a myriad of free / Cash-Shop based MMO's.
At the end of the week i thought, well i could either start paying some doller and continue this low-Lv'd char that i really dont care much for - OR i could not pay a penny and go back to 'insert whatever i was playing at the time for free and having just as much fun in' (i think it was Domo/Holic at the time).
But either way, i'm sure if your playing with Fallon it'll be a blast.
and the Snares-Trap sounds perfect, lol. Might wanna add a piece of 'tech' like i dunno, a video game or a graphics tablet. Hell any bit of tech would do. But yeah - you got all the bases covered right there. I'd fall for that trap everytime. for sure. lol
As for the PC - its really pissing me off. Sometimes its ok, sometimes its not. I should prob just reformat again and attempt to fix it, but in all honesty - i'm just not motivated. I turn it on, it works fine for a while (as long as i just check mail and not actually do anything major). If i attempt to play a game. Most of the tie, it just crashes. SOmetimes i can get it working, other times not. Its very tempermental and annoying.
Allthough i am taking the oppertunity to get into the creative aspects of LittleBigPlanet, so i guess thats another reason why i'm not so motivated to fix the PC right away.
MeH - i'll get on it soon enough.

| Do mem test to check your ram sounds like ram to me >.> If you have two make sure you check the second completely since it doesnt happen till you do alot meaning its not having to use all that memory at first.... sounds like what happened to my comp years ago. Windows fell apart too cause i installed it with bad memory >.< it was not pretty lol. ANYWAYS... yea
And WoW still sucks no mater who you play it with xD cuz it sucks you both in till theres nothing left!!!! >.< Been there... done that... caused lots of fights cuz i was better at it and got invited more to stuff in my guild then my ex did >.> cause well yea... >.< it was just messy... and new guilds never get anywhere high, cuz at a certain level everyone will migrate to the higher guilds and then they will do it again. The top guilds are basically set and only the top guilds get to do anything cuz it takes 40 people >.> so yea >.<

| Believe me with Fallon everything is fun. XD Yeah I'm playing for the reason of I originally was going to buy it back in 10th grade to play with him, but parents wouldn't pay and they bought me GW. SO! I'm playing WoW .It's 1337. All my high school buddies are on there. GAME ON BITCHES! Rouge = nummy so does warlock. ::rubs hands together:: I'm off to school, he's picking me up <3 TTFN I'll finish this post later. -- Ok now I can continue. Yeah, that's why I'm playing WoW. I mean, I know it's a game with everything I can ever want as well. No, I won't get sucked in and I don't plan to get sucked in at all. I'm quite capable of switching games at a fast rate anyway. I've played GW for over 4 years. I've taught myself when to stop. Plus, he takes me out to the beach almost every other day and we go to comic books stores/ table top collectors. It's the most fun I've had in years! So, right on. I'm taking up rollerblading as well. I used to blade and I kind of miss it. WEEEEE!
Oh, just to update all of you! I will be paying for the rest of my college because my parents don't support my decision on becoming a web design major. ^_^ I'm as thrilled as you are right now. They 'might' be kicking me out soon due to the fact I don't do their laundry anymore because I now go outside and spend time with the very sexy love of me life. Oh well.
@ Trev Poorrrr Trev! Jesus... I would have just given up and bought a new computer. I know funds are probably as tight as mine are. :{ I do miss you though. T-T I should write you more e-mails. I'll send you some real soon me promise!
@ Ditz Hope you get better. Like I said I don't plan on being addicted. I do plan on having fun and getting to a high lvl some day though. I know when to stop playing though, believe me.
@Ambie Hope everything is going well, muh love. <3 I hope you can give us an illustration of that trap we've planned out. It would be totally boss! XD You know it! Too bad they won't let you scan shit. Want me to bust a cap? I will!!!!
@Paolo Dood. Don't get over hyped with your dancer. I know you love the grind of this game and shit but... seriously might want to take in consideration that life outside dorm walls aren't that bad. I know you can find somebody that isn't a druggie/ alcoholic. o_o <3 I do care for ya bud. ::hugs::
Okays, I'm off for now trying to find out what to wear to work. THEN I'm going to Fallon's house so we can play 'Shadowrun'. Yes, it is a tabletop game. WOOOOOOOOT! LOVE YOU ALL!

| Well i finally got my ass round to reformatting my PC and it seems to be working fine now. No more random restarts or problems.
Question is What do i do now? As there doesnt seem to be an Inevitable to go back to, do i go back anyway? Can i be arsed?
Truth be told, i'm having more fun playing Fallout 3 at the moment and other stuff on the PS3.
Soooo, i dunno. I'll probibly log into Domo sometime during the week, see whats going down (working this week, so not a great deal of time to spare).
I've been on Vent a few times, but sods law - everytime i log in, theres noone else there. hehe, guess i'll have more luck at the weekend (when i'm next here for a weekend that is).
Esh i dunno. WoW isnt an option due the US account issues (and i dont really wanna pay for my MMO fix anyway, i dont have the time to invest to actually make it worthwhile). Domo appears to be dead (unconfirmed untill i log in).
Maybe its time to blow the dust off Holic?
Or take-up my trusty mmo-seeking sword of uber-skillz and go hunting for something new.
Raaaaaagh!!!
i dont know what to doooo!

heh, might be worth checking out. Either way, it looks like i'll be a 'free-roaming' agent once more, jumping from game to game on a mission to find something worth sticking with and cool people to play with.

Because my PC is old and shit. This my friends is the final straw (ok so i'm a nub for not checking the specs properly). So whats to be done? REJOICE!! DANCE!! EAT CAKE GO FORTH AND MULTIPLY! For I my friends have just ordered a new graphics card and two sticks of RAM to upgrade my crappy PC. lol The new gear should arrive tomorrow *yay* So if all goes to plan, i'll be playing that game (and not complaining so much about any other game i play also) soon. I didnt get anything too fancy, theres no point in whacking some serious gear into this ancient rig and i do still plan to build a new PC next year, but i have no idea when i'll be in a position to spend a few grand on that and in the meantime, i need some upgrades to stop me going mad Merry Chritchmetch to meee! | Grats on the new hardware, man! I know how that feels. I have a 5 year old computer I've barely kept able to run modern games. I've had to upgrade RAM twice, and just recently I got a new Graphics card, after finding out that 2 of the other ones I ordered wouldn't work with my computer due to it's outdated motherboard or something of the like. I'm not too techwise when it comes to hardware.
Grats anyway! | |

| What the Fuck is that? Is that the log-in screen? pretty messed up Lizbit Your specs seem fine, You hit the minimum required RAM, but that should run ok and your GFX card seems fine. Major overload of info there hun generally for this kind of problem, alls thats needed is the system specs (your first post) and a DXdiag report :- How to get a DXdiag reportHowever, your specs do seem to be in order, have you updated your drivers? i'll take a look around the RoM forums, see if i can find anything useful to help. But at the moment i'm kinda stumped. If i find anything i'll get back to you | |

| K Lizbit - got some info (your prob not gonna like this). Check this thread for the full post and some suggestions for solving/working around the problem: Source Thread - Quote :
- Is the game opening, in a black/blue, or flickering screen?
Some players might have noticed that even if they reach the required RAM for the minimum requirements of the graphics, they still can't run it. Although you might think that it is nothing importiant, and it might be a software failure or some flawed system that the Devs need to fix.
- But it's not, what you need is a total new system generation of graphic card. Ex: You are using a 2,6 Ghz Celeron processor, and you are trying to run a game that needs 2,0 Ghz that requires a Intel Pentium processor or equal. You have two options, you can use your older (Intel Pentium processor) with 1,8 Ghz. Or you can use the new 2,6 Ghz Celeron. You will notice that even if the older Intel Pentium is sluggy, it will eventually run. The new Celeron will not run, simply becourse it doesn't have the required technology. And what is this nonsense then? Well.. It's like with your graphic card. Even if you had a 2 GB ram graphic card, doesn't mean that it works better than a 512 MB ram grapic card that has the newest technology.
But what is this techology? Well, it's simply called "Shader Model", you might refer it to "Vertex Model" too.
Pixel-, model and vertex shader If you are not well known with these factors, I don't need to explain them. You all probably heard of the drivers "DirectX". Right now, all games needs atleast DirectX 8.0. DirectX and the Shader models have a similar effect.
Heres a short list on games that needs DirectX on some different levels:
DirectX 6.0 and lower are rarely seen these days on games.
DirectX 7.0 - Warcraft, Diablo 2 and similar.
DirectX 8.0 - Warcraft, Diablo 2 and similar.
DirectX 9.0 - Newer generation of games, such as Half-Life 2, Guild Wars, Counter-Strike: Source, Assassins Creed can run too.
DirectX 10.0 - Is not much different than the 9.0 version, but some games like Assassins Creed can run in a 10.0 version, improving the graphics A LOT!.
The newer DirectX versions is under development.
How does DirectX and the Shader Model connect? DirectX and the Shader Model works together in some sort of "everyone-must-understand-explaining-word". Now, hows that? Lets take an examble:
The DirectX 8.0 version, is kinda outdated. Known cards that support DirectX 8.0 version: GeForce 3 series and Geforce 4 Ti/Go series Also supports the Shader Model 1.0/1.1 (3-series) and SM (shader model) 1.3 for the (4-series). Ati Radeon 8550-9250 and Ati Radeon 9500-9800 and X300-X600 8550-9250 series support SM 1.4, 9500-9800 series support 2.0 SM AND DirectX 9.0! - But I put them under the DirectX 8.0. Most games using DirectX 9.0 needs SM 3, but not games like WoW, Guildwars, Half-life 2 engines. This is where people get fooled most. Please check your SM next time before you download a game, otherwise you will get disapointed when you see the requirements and think.. "Ahh! My card can run DirectX 9.0!". This goes for the Geforce FX series and the Radeon X700-X850 too.
These cards are way outdated, you need Shader Model 3.0 atleast to play the game smoothly, so lets get moving.
Sooo, it looks like you might need to do some tweaking to get this running (if this is indeed the same problem you are having, going by the screenshot. I'd say it was close to, if not this problem). Good luck hun. - UPDATE - K, after reading through most of that thread i see someone posted a screenshot of their log-in screen and it looks exactly like the one you posted. So, yeah, this thread is directly related to your problem. More specifically : - Quote :
- Ati Radeon 8550-9250 and Ati Radeon 9500-9800 and X300-X600
8550-9250 series support SM 1.4, 9500-9800 series support 2.0 SM AND DirectX 9.0! - But I put them under the DirectX 8.0. This goes for the Geforce FX series and the Radeon X700-X850 too. Theres some alternative driver fixes and some minor ram-boosting suggestions in the thread, If you decide to give any of that a try make sure you back up your old drivers an shit first. Personally, after reading the process, i'd recommend upgrading instead of fucking around with non-signed 'tweaking' drivers. Buuuut, i guess theres a chance it could work (and as long as you back up, theres no real risk i guess). Of course that is all up to you.
